My main research interest is on large scale oceanographic currents and hydrographic properties, with a focus on ocean temporal variability and its link with atmospheric changes. My current research in Hokkaido University is about the variability of the Okhotsk Sea water properties and circulation. A first paper on the seasonal variations in the Kuril Basin is ready to be submitted and I am enthusiastic about exploring further aspects of the temporal variability of the Sea of Okhotsk, which is an essential component of the North Pacific overturning. I work essentially on ocean data and satellite observations and actively participated in various research cruises until last year. My research approach is to optimize to the best of my abilities the quality of the data observations before starting the analysis. This lead me to work on both technology-oriented and science-based manuscripts since I have started doing research.
